Michael serves as the Operations Manager at the Lakeside QRU, where he oversees operations, logistics, facilities, fleet & medical equipment, training & development for EMS responders, and provides administrative support & leadership. He brings a diverse professional background, including 15 years as an electronic service technician & supervisor, 5 years in home automation installation, and 7 years as a USPS contractor in the Lakeside community.
Michael holds multiple credentials, including EMR, EMT, and Paramedic licenses, as well as certifications in EMS management and instruction.

Deeply committed to community service, Michael has volunteered for 8 years with the local fire department—3 as captain and training officer—and has supported the local food bank. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and is passionate about helping others.
Mary is an accomplished educator and emergency medical service professional whose career is distinguished by her dedication to teaching, mentoring and service to the community. With 33 years as an elementary educator, she developed a deep expertise in guiding learners and fostering growth. Her commitment to training extended into the emergency medicine arena, where she instructs EMT classes. Mary’s six years serving as the EMS Manager for Flathead County brings a greater understanding of emergency medical operations to the QRU.
As the QRU’s Service Director, Training Officer and responding Paramedic, Mary trains and mentors medical responders, supporting their professional development and encouraging them to advance in their emergency medicine careers by building essential skills and confidence. Her teaching has had a lasting impact, as she inspires and empowers others through her dedication to service and education.
Mary is one of the 1981 founding members of the Lakeside QRU who recognized the need for a local and community supported emergency medical service. Many years after becoming an EMT, Mary continued her education and training to advance to Paramedic level and has been a responding Paramedic for the QRU since 2012. She is well known in the community for compassionate patient interaction and focused technical skills.
“I have lived in Lakeside most of my life, married a local young man, and remain here as a contributing citizen of our town. The majority of my time revolves around the QRU and I love to watch others take their first steps in EMS and see them blossom and fly enough to share in our endeavor to help others”.
When not engaged in QRU responsibilities, Mary loves to read, visit with friends, help others, explore the world through travel and contributes to the Lakeside Community Chapel as a musician and computer operations support. She is also passionate about golfing and appreciates the recreational opportunities and personal enjoyment that comes from living in this beautiful area.
Michael brings over a decade of volunteer EMT experience and four years of board leadership to the Lakeside QRU. As Board Chairman, he guides strategic decisions, fosters teamwork, and supports the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality emergency medical services.
With 35 years as a captain for American Airlines, and extensive experience in aviation management, Michael is skilled in leading diverse teams, managing complex operations, and making critical decisions under pressure. His aviation experience also includes flying for Alaskan Airlines, bush piloting in Alaska and serving as a flight instructor. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor’s in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Michael’s commitment to service and collaborative leadership as well as his appreciation for mentoring and teaching supports and strengthens the Lakeside QRU’s long-term impact on the community.
“I started at the QRU to gain hands on patient care experience as I was pursuing a degree as a Physician Assistant. After some years, I found working with a group of such dedicated professionals rewarding both professionally and mentally”.
When Michael is not flying airplanes or answering the call for aid as a volunteer QRU responder he pursues his Bible studies, spends time with his two daughters and five grandchildren, and tirelessly seeks to master his bowhunting and flyfishing skills.

Courtney serves as a Director on the QRU Board where she works in conjuction with the other Board members governing the organization's strategic direction and oversight.
Coutrney is the office manager for a local accounting firm serving non-profits, individuals and businesess. Her experience with the financial and medical billing of health care providers coupled with her experience serving on other nonprofit Boards provides the QRU with a unique perspective of the QRU's financial operations and supports a broader understanding and appreciation of Board governance.
"Serving on the Lakeside QRU Board allows me to be involved in the community with a nonprofit providing essential services to the communtiy. I enjoy being a small part keeping an ambulance service in a rural growing area".
Courtney takes pride in her involvement in the community as she contributed to shaping educational policies and managing budgets while serving three terms on the Somers School District Board (one term as Board Chairperson) and is currently the Chairperson of her large HOA.
On her off duty hours, Courtney spends time with her spouse and adult children, cycling, exploring new places and reading good books.
