It is an enormous commitment to be an active emergency medical service responder, and currently all the QRU medical responders are volunteers. In 2018 the Board of Directors recognized that the time needed to effectively manage the organization had grown beyond that of a volunteer Chief and hired a part time Executive Director to lead the organization.
Similarly, the Board also recognized the need for the organization to be more visible and inclusive to our community and in 2018 the Lakeside Ambulance Auxiliary was formed. “Drawing on the expertise and enthusiasm on our community members to assist in the tasks of operating a viable non-profit is a win-win for the entire community” states Lois Lauman, Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
The Lakeside Ambulance Auxiliary recruits talented community members to assist in positioning the organization for long term success by supporting outreach, fund raising and public relation activities.
Currently the Lakeside Ambulance Auxiliary supports the QRU by sponsoring the following events to enhance fund raising, community outreach and QRU volunteer recognition:
